2nd day- Cambodia

Entering the secooooooooond day!

We're going back to my maid's hometown >>>>>

Varin, Siem Reap, Cambodia.

It's about an hour from the hotel.

From buildings to paddy fields to kampungs.

The neighbors came to have a look...
more of them came lol
i have no idea how to react to them.

ahem. For the first time I felt like some star lol

This adorable couple.

you still look handsome :)

Then more of 'em came.

Never been to rural areas before, a great experience for me.

Looking at them, I had much more than I ever wanted.

How much I need to appreciate, how much I need to be grateful.

uhm... yeah. At least finish the very last rice

on your plate.

They were all shy at first, but as we leave,

they all waved with smiles on their face :)

It's warm hearted.

SO...... then we head to Silk Factory/Farm(?)

This place was originally built to let the jobless people

have a place to work and earn some living.

Well, you know silk?

It's the saliva that these bugs spit out .

maybe its not clear but these are the worms.

They eat these leaves and grow.

and grow uuntil they're big enough, they're put here.

They start spitting out saliva around them and turn into cocoons.

some are in these branches.

Then it's time to take them out and let them dry in the sun,

kills the worm inside and take it's saliva.

The dried ones will be boiled in hot water and the silk 

will be taken out. It's kinda magical how the thread won't 

putus.

Here, dirty things like dust or tiny dirt gets removed.

And you dye the silk in different colours here.

This is the process of making silk into cloth, bags, purse,
clothes and etc.

I really am amazed at how really I'm dumbfounded.

It's all hand made, so at the end of our trip we bought alot.

and the second day is quite meaningful and fun. :)
